
Biography
Massimo Bertucci is an Italian cellist and educator based in Sydney, Australia. Born into a family of musicians, he was introduced to the cello at a very young age by his father, whose guidance laid the foundations of both his technical development and his lifelong passion for the instrument.
He graduated with highest distinction from the Giuseppe Nicolini Conservatory of Music in Piacenza under the guidance of Maestro Jacopo Di Tonno and later continued his artistic development with Tanja Tetzlaff. Throughout his career, he has further refined his musical perspective through masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians, including Giovanni Sollima, David Geringas, Steven Isserlis, Nicolas Altstaedt, Maximilian Hornung, Giovanni Gnocchi, Enrico Dindo, and Ulrich Koella.
Today, Massimo’s work embraces solo, chamber, and orchestral performance alongside a strong commitment to music education. His artistic approach combines the traditions of the Italian cello school with a curiosity for new experiences, always seeking to communicate with authenticity and create meaningful musical connections with audiences and students alike.
His work has also been featured in Italian and Australian media, including interviews and articles published by La Fiamma (Sydney) and Libertà (Piacenza), reflecting his ongoing engagement with the cultural communities of both countries.
